A new chapter is unfolding along the north bank of the Yarra River, as the Seafarers precinct transforms a once-forgotten stretch into a vibrant riverside destination.
At the heart of this revitalisation is Australia’s first 1 Hotel & Homes, promising a luxury living experience that transcends anything the city has witnessed. As the project takes shape, Icon Construction has achieved a milestone – reaching the halfway point of the structure.
With just nine levels left to go, anticipation is building for the topping out early next year. The striking facade, masterfully designed by Nonda Katsalidis, will soon start to take form, with facade works commencing on levels 4 and 5. These works pave the way for internal fit outs to begin.
Meanwhile, the restoration of the heritage-listed Goods Shed No.5 is progressing. Meticulous efforts have gone into restoring the original trusses and steel frames, which have now been returned to site and are starting to be reinstalled.
